About Us
Studio StarDuzt is a Melbourne-based 2D animation studio fuelled by creativity, collaboration and a love for bold and unique storytelling. Our latest 2D animated short "I Have Tonnes of Work and Now I'm a Magical Girl" is out on YouTube, and has been selected for MIAF. Our team worked together over half a year to develop an entertaining, stylised and imaginative short story that leaned into the kind of witty comedy you'd find in Adult Swim shows. This project was brought to life by our tight-knit team of 9 passionate artists, each with their own unique role in shaping our vision.

Hi, Lucille here! I'm co-directing this exciting project, designing backgrounds and developing and managing the marketing plan. I've created an immersive cross-platform media plan involving cannon gossip magazine StarDuzt Magz which covers all things GalaGlitz related on Instagram. Support us on Kofi for the full magazine! The background design has been a good challenge in style and setting. I've loved the process but my favourite part of the projectis the team's passion and collaboration. Hi! I'm Kayda. I'm a 2D artist and animator who has loved to draw since I could hold a pencil. I'm co-directing this absolutely amazing project and am responsible for managing our production scheduling, keeping track of our funds and making sure our team is on the right track. I'm also contributing to our project where I can whether that be thumbnails, feedback and/or ideas. Later down the track I will be assisting with the production of our short film by animating. Our team has worked amazingly so far and can't wait to see what other crazy shenanigans we get up to.

Hi! I'm the Head of Creative for our project, which means I'm designing and directing the overall look and feel. In pre-production I'm majorly contributing to character design, then when we move onto production, I'll be animating my butt off with the rest of the animation team.
I've been inspired by both Japanese and Western late 2000's cartoons such as "Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt" and "My Life as a Teenage Robot" I'm working to capture not only the nostalgia, but the fun and sappy energy era of cartoons is characterised by.

Hi, there! I'm a 2D animation student with a love for all things chaotic and out of this world, and I am heavily influenced by the comedic aspect of Adult Swim shows. My main role is head script writer which involves me combining everyone's crazy and brilliant ideas into a unique and entertaining script that forms the foundations of our upcoming short film.

Hi, I'm Michael Cassar! I'm a 2D Animator and Illustrator. I've been drawing since I was young and have delighted in telling stories ever since! I've been creating animations and artworks for several years now under the name Curioptus, and this is my first time working in a team for a major project.
As the Lead Animator it is my job to make sure the team sticks to the right movement, so if anything looks wrong, you can rest assured it's my fault! (But if it looks great, then that's purely thanks to the rest of our talented team!)

Hi, I'm Jordan! I'm responsible for creating sound effects/foley, recording dialogue, audio mixing, hiring voice actors, script writing and creating our BTS documentary. As a film maker, I've worked on a wide range of projects from short films, a music video, documentaries, multicam podcasts, title sequences, soundscapes, an animated short, and screenplays. I've always been passionate about the creation of many different video-based productions!

Hi, my name is Matthew and I'm an animator and part of the team responsible for scriptwriting and storyboarding at Studio StarDuzt. My inspirations stem from many anime like Bleach and Vinland Saga which may have affected my art style a little. I am to create work that is great and memorable. Besides being an in-between animator, I am also a clean-up artist.

Hi, I'm Meg! I've loved sketching since I was a kid, leaving my workbooks and tests in school covered in drawings. It wasn't until my teen years that my love for animation grew from Disney films to anime and tyles of long form series. I'm now a Storyboard Artist and 2D Animator based in Melbourne. I was involved in script writing, storyboards and prop designs for our upcoming project. I also was an animator and social media manager.
My favourite animated projects are Mulan (1998), Across the Spiderverse (2023), and Cowboy Bebop (1998).
JAYDA HIRD
Hi, my name is Jayda Hird and I'm an artist currently studying a Bachelor of 2D Animation at the Academy of Interactive Technology. I enjoy watching both 2D and 3D animated films, with a deep appreciation and enjoyment of games with 2D gameplay. I love how life can be put into flat images through colour, lighting, posing and animation. My current position at Studio StarDuzt is as a Character Designer and Social Media Marketer. I have currently been working on the designs for two of our characters, Sun and Moon, and creating posters for all our characters to post on our social media for audience to get to know who they will be watching.
